Hempstead, NY – With a spot in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship still up for grabs, the Hofstra men's lacrosse team will make the trip down to Maryland for its final regular season game against Towson on Saturday, April 30.

The Pride slipped to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in the CAA after last weekend's 13-9 loss at home to Massachusetts in the Pride's final home game of the 2022 season.
Rory Jones,
Gerard Kane, and
Griffin Turner all scored two goals on Saturday, while Kane and Turner dished out two assists to bring their point totals to four on the day.
Mac Gates posted his 12th game this season with double-digit saves, making 11 against the Minutemen.
Kane's two goals and two assists on Saturday puts him at 21 goals and 15 assists for the season, the most on the Hofstra roster, while
Dylan McIntosh has scored 20 goals and Jones has found the back of the net 18 times.
Matt Elder has dished out 12 assists on the year, and Jones and
Colton Rudd are tied with seven assists each. With 38 caused turnovers on the year,
Bryan McIntosh continues to rank among the top takeaway defensemen in Division I, and Gates continues to lead the CAA in Goals-Against Average (10.74) while ranking third in save percentage (.534) and saves per game (12.29).
Entering the year picked to finish fourth in the Preseason CAA Coaches' Poll, Towson currently leads the conference with a 3-1 CAA record and an overall record of 6-7. The Tigers are led on offense by James Avanzato and Nick DeMaio with 26 goals each, while Avanzato leads the team with 22 assists and 48 points.
Despite a 1-3 conference record heading into the final weekend, the Pride still has a chance to qualify for the four-team CAA Championship. A win by the Pride, plus losses by Drexel to Massachusetts on Friday and Delaware to Fairfield on Saturday, would punch Hofstra's ticket to the postseason based on the head-to-head tiebreaker the Pride holds over Delaware from the team's 12-11 win on April 9, as Hofstra and Delaware will have won over Towson while Drexel suffered defeat to the Tigers.
The Pride holds a 28-24 all-time record against Towson. The teams met twice last season in a modified CAA schedule; Hofstra won, 8-7, at home on April 3 before falling to Towson, 10-8, on April 13. The Pride will be looking for its first road win over Towson since 2017.
