Uniondale, NY – Hofstra women's outdoor track freshman
Luise Wildner finished first in the 800m as the Pride hosted LIU, St. Francis Brooklyn, and Wagner at the Hofstra Invitational from Mitchel Athletic Complex on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
A first-year runner from Berlin, Germany, Wildner won the 800m event with a time of 2:30.77, nearly five seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Georgia Brown and
Natalie Chua also ran for Hofstra in the event, with Brown running a time of 2:37.70 and Chua clocking in at 2:40.22.
Grace Giannatsis and
Kayla Stadeker ran for the Pride in the Mile, and Giannatsis clocked in at 6:20.12 while Stadeker broke the tape at 6:30.00.
Deandra Baker qualified for the 100m dash with a preliminary time of 14.75, while she placed fifth in the 100m dash final with a time of 14.66, and
Leah Iglesias completed the 200m dash at 31.54.
Prior to the day's events, the Hofstra women's track program honored graduating seniors
Abby Briggs and
Grace Giannatsis.
Hofstra's next competition is the Virginia Challenge, hosted by the University of Virginia, on April 22 from Charlottesville, Virginia.
