Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's and women's track teams will split their squads this coming weekend and compete at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational.
The Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational will take place on February 11-12 inside the BU Track and Tennis Center, while the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Invitational will be held inside the Ocean First Bank Center on February 11-12. Hofstra opened the new year with
Sophia Masciarelli and
Paul Markovina running at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on January 28 and 30. Masciarelli ran in the 5000m and set a new personal-best time of 17:58.44, and Markovina ran in the 3000m on Sunday and finished with a time of 8:23.72 for a new personal-best and the new second-fastest time in the event in Hofstra men's indoor track history.
Markovina and
Zach Van Houten will represent the Pride men in the 5000m and the DMR team of Masciarelli,
Jordyn McDonnell,
Lauren Dietrich and
Jackalynn Orellana will run at the Valentine Invitational. At the Monmouth Collegiate Invitational women's events, Hofstra will have 16 competitors in the 60m dash and one competitor each in the 200m and 800m. For the Hofstra men, they will have 11 competing in the 60m dash, three in the 200m dash, two in the Mile, and one in the 800m.
