Newark, DE - Hofstra freshman
Abraham Longosiwa finished third in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship, while the Pride placed fifth as a team.
Longosiwa ran the 8K in a time of 24:17:10, finishing just over seven seconds out of first place in his first conference championship, and earning himself an All-CAA medal.
Sophomore
Michael Silveri placed 21st for the Pride as well, closing with a time of 25:37:30. Silveri crossed the finish line 0.2 seconds behind William & Mary runner Nate Jennings, just missing out on a top 20 finish in his second conference championship race.
Other finishers for the Pride included graduate student
Paul Markovina in 30th place with a time of 25:56.20, junior
Aiden Willey in 47th place with a time of 26:55.60, and freshman
Brian Beck in 53rd place with a finish of 27:11.80.
The Pride scored 123 points to score a fifth-place finish, placing three points ahead of Elon in sixth and six being fourth-place Monmouth. Stony Brook captured its first CAA team title with 31 total points and all five scoring runners placing inside the top 10. The Seawolves finished eight points in front of Northeastern, while Huskies runner Alexander Korczynski won his second consecutive individual title with a time of 24;09.6.
Hofstra is back in action on Friday, November 11 for the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in the Bronx, New York.
