Hempstead, NY - Hofstra senior Jalen Ray was named to the All-Met First Team and junior Isaac Kante earned All-Met Second Team honors,  it was announced today by the Met Basketball Writers Association.

Ray, a member of the All-Colonial Athletic Association and National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District First Team, averaged a team-best 19.3 points per game this past season, while also adding 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He was twice named the CAA Player of the Week this season and three times earned a spot on the CAA Honor Roll. He was also on the CAA Championship All-Tournament Team.

Kante garnered All-CAA Second Team accolades in addition to being named to the NABC All-District Second team after a strong season. He averaged 12.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per outing in 2020-21. One of only 21 players in the nation to average a double-double, he was the CAA Player of the Week on January 4 and earned a spot on the CAA Honor Roll on February 1.

Hofstra, which won 13 games last season, advanced to the semifinals of the CAA Championship for the third consecutive season. It marked the first time in the program's CAA history (since 2001-02) that the Pride has made three straight semifinal appearances.
