Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's lacrosse team will face its fifth consecutive ranked opponent when the Pride heads to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Sunday to face #14 Drexel. 

This marks the first time in program history that Hofstra will be playing five straight ranked opponents. 

First draw control from Vidas Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Hofstra is 4-4 overall and 0-1 in Colonial Athletic Association play.

Hofstra is coming off a strong showing in its last game, a 13-7 rout of #24 James Madison on Saturday. It was the Whelan and Parrella show for Hofstra as senior Katie Whelan had a career-high eight points on a career-high six goals and two assists, while senior Alyssa Parrella posted five points on three goals and two assists to become the all-time leading scorer in CAA history. 

Parrella leads the team with 38 points on 30 goals and eight assists, while Whelan ranks second with 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists. Parrella also is first on the squad with 33 draw controls, while graduate student Darcie Smith has a team-best 16 ground balls and is tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with seven, tied with senior Shannon Boyle. 

Drexel is 10-1 and 2-0 in league action following a 20-8 win over Towson on Tuesday. Colleen Grady leads the Dragons with 65 points on 37 goals and 28 assists. 

Hofstra leads the all-time series with Drexel, 28-9. The Dragons won this season's earlier meeting in Hempstead.
