Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's lacrosse team looks to put a loss to Massachusetts behind them as the Pride welcomes Towson to James M. Shuart Stadium on Saturday, April 3.

The Pride hosted Massachusetts on Tuesday (Mar. 30) and were defeated 16-10 in the first home Colonial Athletic Association game of the season for Hofstra. Graduate student
Justin Lynskey led the Pride with five points on two goals and three assists, while senior
Ryan Tierney and sophomores
Justin Sykes and
Colton Rudd both scored twice against the Minutemen. Senior
Brian Herber went 16-29 on face-offs on Tuesday, and redshirt senior
Bobby Casey made seven stops in net for Hofstra.
Hofstra enters Saturday's contest sporting a 4-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the CAA. Tierney leads the conference and is tied for the national lead in goals scored with 30 on the year, and his eight assists gives him 38 points for the year, placing him seventh in the national and first in the conference in points. Alex Concannon add to the dangerous Hofstra attack unit, with Lynskey providing 25 points on 14 goals and 11 assists, and Concannon has totaled 21 points on 15 goals and six assists. Redshirt senior
Riley Forte is also a danger from the midfield with eight goals and six assists for 14 points. Herber has been a boon for Hofstra at the face-off circle, ranking 13th in the country in face-off win percentage (.640) and 11th in ground balls per game (7.67). In his two starts this season, Casey has made 18 saves and holds a .439 save percentage.
For Towson, the Tigers hold a 3-5 overall record and an 0-2 record in the conference following a 7-6 win in overtime against #12 Loyola on March 27. Andrew Milani leads the team with 17 goals on the year, while James Avanzato (13 G, 10 A) and Brody McLean (16 G, 4 A) are the top two point-scorers for Towson. Shane Brennan looks to backstop the Tigers on Saturday, as he has started all eight games and posted 91 saves and a .495 save percentage.

Hofstra leads the all-time series against Towson, holding a 27-23 record over the Tigers in 50 meetings. Towson took the last meeting between these teams, a 10-9 result in Maryland. Hofstra last got one over Towson in a 9-3 win in Hempstead in 2018.
