Hempstead, NY – Following a convincing 3-0 victory against Providence College, the Hofstra University women's soccer team looks to continue its incredible run against the University of South Carolina during the second round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship on Friday, November 19. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. PST/ 2 p.m. EST at Soni McAlister Field on the campus of the University of Southern California.
The match will be streamed live free of charge on Pac-12 Plus. The Hofstra Pride (17-3-1) is making its third appearance in the second round of the NCAA tournament appearance in the last four seasons and fifth overall. Hofstra is looking to advance to the third round for the first time in program history. Friday's matchup will mark the first meeting between the Pride and Gamecocks.

Miri Taylor tacked on insurance tallies to lead the Pride to victory. With her goal, Porter set a new Hofstra record with 123, while Taylor moved into a tie for the nation's lead in total points (45) and points per game (2.25). In addition,
Skylar Kuzmich notched two saves to record her 12th shutout of the year, ranking second in the country. As a team, the Pride is now outscoring opponents 51-10 this year, while holding a 408-122 edge in shots. Defensively, the Blue and Gold rank third in goals allowed per game at 0.46 and third in shutouts per game at 0.619.
South Carolina enters Friday's matchup with a 12-6-1 overall record and advanced with a 1-0 upset-victory over No. 10 University of North Carolina during the first round. Luciana Zullo's 81st-minute goal lifted the Gamecocks past the Tar Heels for the team's 10th appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. South Carolina is 5-5 overall in the second round during its previous 10 appearances.
Four Gamecocks earned All-SEC recognition this season, with Anna Patten and Jyllissa Harris garnering first-team honors, while Lauren Chang grabbed second-team honors and Catherine Barry was selected to the All-Freshman Team.
Barry leads South Carolina with 16 points on the season, netting seven goals and adding two assists. Ryan Gareis also finds herself in double figures in the points category, scoring three goals and adding eight assists. In goal, Heather Hinz boasts five shutouts and 44 saves. As a team, the Gamecocks are outscoring opponents 31-20, while holding a 236-168 lead in shots.
