Hempstead, NY – Hofstra head softball coach
Adrienne Clark announced the signing of two players of National Letter of Intent Wednesday. Joining the Hofstra softball Class of 2026 is
Emma Brennan and
Alanna Morse.
"Emma and Alanna are great additions to our program," said Clark. They add depth and versatility to our roster making our team stronger. I look forward to having them on campus in the fall!"
Emma Brennan | Pitcher/1B | Goshen, N.Y. | R/R
Brennan is a pitcher and first baseman from Goshen, N.Y. and attends Minisink Valley High School. She is a two-time All-State and two-time All-County team member after firing a 1.00 ERA or better in each of her two seasons, including a 0.84 ERA in 2019. In two seasons, she has tossed nearly 200 innings and has struck out 240 batters. In addition, Brennan has made an impact at the plate, batting over .300 in each of her two high school seasons. Brennan is a two-time Division Champion, a Section 9 Champion in 2019, and a state semifinalist.
Brennan earned high honors in the classroom in 2020-21 and was an honors student her first two years at Minisink Valley as well. At Hofstra, Brennan plans to major in exercise science with a minor in coaching. After college, Brennan aspires to pursue a career in sports therapy and rehabilitation.
Brennan on Hofstra: "One of the main reasons why I chose Hofstra is because of Coach Clark. From the first moment I talked with her until the day I met with her on campus, I knew Hofstra was the place for me. Her outgoing personality and welcoming feeling made the decision very easy. The family type of environment also made it feel more than just another campus."
Clark on Brennan: "Emma is a fierce competitor on the mound. She is strong and powerful with an uncanny ability to make the ball move. Her personality coupled with her drive make her a dynamic addition to our pitching staff."

Morse, the younger sister of current Hofstra sophomore
Brianna Morse, is a shortstop and third baseman from North Bellmore, N.Y. and attends W. C. Mepham High School. Morse, the 2021 Nassau County Player of the Year and Newsday Nassau County Player of the Year, collected several accolades this past spring as she was also earned First Team All-State, First Team All-Long Island, All-County, and the Nassau County Class A postseason MVP. During both of her playing seasons at Mepham, Morse batted over .500 both times including a .660 clip this past spring and .539 clip in 2019. In addition to her individual accolades, Morse helped her team to a 2021 Class A Long Island Championship and was a 2019 Class A Long Island finalist.
Morse is a standout in the classroom as well, as she is a member of the National Honor Society, National Italian Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National History Honor Society. At Hofstra, Morse plans on majoring in early childhood education with a minor in psychology, and she aspires to be an elementary school teacher and softball coach following graduation.

Clark on Morse: "Alanna is a force offensively. Her presence at the plate combined with her competitiveness makes her a really tough out. She is an elite defender with versatility to play multiple positions. Her passion and work ethic is unmatched!"
