Sitting at 5-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference, Hofstra hosted Delaware and Drexel in a pair of CAA fixtures from the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium this past week. The Pride fought 21st-ranked Delaware to a 3-2 defeat on Friday before suffering a one-goal defeat to Drexel on Senior Day this past Sunday. Eline Oldeman scored goals in both games, while Djuna Slort scored against Delaware and Cami Larsson added to her tally against Drexel.

Oldeman's sensational season continues, as she leads all CAA freshmen with 14 points and six goals, while Mercedes Currie has scored six times in 2021 for her best season in a Hofstra uniform to date. Slort, Simryn Desai, and Karissa Hough have four assists each on the year, providing the Pride with a number of distributors from across the turf. In goal, Merlijn van der Vegt continues to rank among the top shot-stoppers in the CAA, averaging five saves per game and a .714 save percentage.

Picked to finish tied with the Pride in the CAA Preseason Poll, Towson enters Friday with a 3-10 overall record and 1-3 mark in the CAA following a 2-1 overtime win over William & Mary. The Tigers sport one of the top shot-stoppers in the country in goalkeeper Lena Vandam, ranking second in saves per game (9.92) and ninth in save percentage (.796). Towson is also tied for the top spot in the nation in defensive saves with 17, led by Kasey Bubel with 10 and Paige Reese with three.

Winners of consecutive shutouts over Rider and Sacred Heart, Fairfield sits atop the NEC standings at 7-6 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Stags are led offensively by returning NFHCA All-Mid-East Region selection Malen Iglesias with six goals and All-NEC Second Team honoree Juliana Kratz with four. Fairfield's backline ranks at the top of the conference in goals against average (1.35) and save percentage (.786).

Hofstra has won the last 10 meetings against Towson and sports a 30-11 all-time record against the Tigers, including a 2-1 road overtime win last season. Against Fairfield, Hofstra has lost the last three meetings, including a 3-2 home defeat last season, but has a 29-8 all-time record over the Stags.
