Hempstead, NY – Following the second week of competition, senior guard Tareq Coburn of the Hofstra men's basketball team was voted the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. Coburn was a nominee for the second-straight week.
 
Fans voted on the Hofstra Pride Athletics Twitter account (@HofstraPride) over the course of a 24-hour period.
 
Coburn notched a career-high 28 points against Iona last Saturday while shooting 6-of-13 (46 percent) from the field. He also recorded four rebounds, one steal, and matched his career-best of 13 free throws.
 
The Queens native is leading Hofstra in scoring this season with 18.7 points per game while shooting at a 43 percent clip.
 
Hofstra is back in action tonight (December 9) against Stony Brook. Tip-off at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex is set for 7 p.m.
