Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball program continued its strong offseason as today it was announced that talented New York native Jaquan Carlos has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University to further his academic and athletic career. Carlos will be a freshman in the fall of 2021.
Carlos, a 6-1 guard, is a native of Brooklyn, New York, and attends Thomas Jefferson High School.

Mike Farrelly. "Jaquan is a dynamic and talented young man who has a bright future ahead. Jaquan can really score the ball and has sensational court vision. This has been a really great couple of weeks for our program and special kudos to Coach Claxton and Coach Curtin for their strong work as well."
Ranked as the sixth-best point guard in New York State by 247Sports, he was also ranked as the 38th best point guard in the nation by 247Sports in the class of 2021.
Over the past three seasons at Thomas Jefferson, Carlos averaged 25 points and seven assists per outing.
This is the second commitment in the last week for Hofstra as Griffin Barrouk signed his NLI last Thursday.
