4/25/2019 9:36:00 AM

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team will close the regular season and look to head into the Colonial Athletic Association Championship on a high note when it travels to Drexel on Saturday.

First draw control from Vidas Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on the Lax Sports Network and there will also be live statistics available. Links to both can be found on this page and on the women's lacrosse schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra (10-6, 3-2 CAA) is coming off a 14-8 win over Delaware on Sunday that clinched a berth in the upcoming conference tournament for the Pride.

Junior Alyssa Parrella has established herself as one of the top players in the nation as she currently leads the team with 93 points on 78 goals and 15 assists. Her goals and goals per game (4.88) totals both lead the entire nation and she ranks third in points per game (5.81) and fourth in total points. On the other side of the ball is junior Darcie Smith, who has established herself this season. She leads Hofstra in three different statistical categories with 104 draw controls, 34 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers. She ranks 18th nationally in draw controls per game and she is four draw controls away from the CAA single season record. Parrella is one goal shy of the Hofstra record for a career, after setting the program record for points against the Blue Hens, and she is three goals shy of the CAA record for a season.

Drexel is 6-9 overall and 1-4 in conference action following a 12-10 road loss to Towson last Sunday. Colleen Grady leads the team with 51 points on 33 goals and 18 assists, while Karson Harris has 47 points on 31 goals and 16 assists to go along with 87 draw controls, 35 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

Hofstra is 27-8 all-time against Drexel and defeated the Dragons, 13-11, last season in Hempstead.
