Hempstead, NY - Hofstra Men's Lacrosse goalie Robert Casey has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Warrior and New Balance Team of the Week, the USILA announced.

Last Saturday, Casey, a red-shirt sophomore from Wantagh, New York, recorded 14 saves while facing 38 shots in his collegiate starting debut against the Mountain Hawks of Lehigh in Hofstra's 4-3 come-from-behind win in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Casey tallied seven saves in the first quarter, one in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth.

Casey was one of three goalies named to this week's 10-man, USILA team. Senior goalies Jacob Stover from Loyola and Tim Troutner from High Point were the other two. In addition to the three goalies, also named to the USILA team were: junior attackman Grant Ament from Penn State; sophomore attackman Eric Holden from Hobart; freshman attackman Brendan Nichtern from Army; sophomore attackman Asher Nolting from High Point; junior attackman Nicky Petkevich from Colgate; senior Patrick Spencer from Loyola; and senior midfielder Alex Woodall from Towson.

Casey and the Pride will be back in action this Saturday, February 16 when Hofstra begins its home schedule at James M. Shuart Stadium against the Utes of the University of Utah. Game time is 1 p.m.
