Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will put its nine-game win streak on the line on Saturday when it hosts preseason Colonial Athletic Association favorite Northeastern.

Tip-off from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex is scheduled for 4 p.m. between the two CAA heavyweights.

For ticket information visit HofstraTickets.com, call (516) HOF-TIXX or stop by the Hofstra Athletics Ticket Office in the lobby of the Mack Sports Complex during normal business. The game will be televised by CBS Sports Digital on CollegeSportsLive.com and Pride Productions will offer live audio of the broadcast. There will also be live statistics available. Links to all can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

The win streak is the seventh-longest in program history and now tied for the longest of Hofstra's CAA era (since 2001). The Pride opened the 2004-05 season with nine straight victories. The last time Hofstra had a streak longer than nine games was an 18-game win streak from January 7-March 10, 2001. The 12-3 record is tied with the 2005-06 season for the best start to a season in the CAA era.

Hofstra is 2-0 in league play for the first time since 2015-16 after the opening weekend saw the Pride capture a 91-46 win over Delaware on Friday and then an 89-75 victory over Drexel on Sunday.

Senior Justin Wright-Foreman earned his fourth CAA Player of the Week award of the year on Monday after averaging 31.5 points and shooting 67% (21-31) from the field in the two contests.

Wright-Foreman has been huge for the Pride all season and is averaging a team-best 25.7 points per game, while junior Eli Pemberton (14.4) and senior Desure Buie (10.2) are also in double figures. Buie has a team-high 73 assists this season and has played the best basketball of his career recently as evident by his first two career double-doubles in two of the Pride's last three games. Graduate student Jacquil Taylor has been a strong addition to Hofstra this season and is pulling down a team-high 7.7 rebounds per outing, while also chipping in with six points per game.

Northeastern, which has had its share of injuries this season, is currently 7-7 overall and 1-1 in conference action. They opened CAA play with a win over Drexel before dropping a double overtime decision to Delaware on Sunday. Three players average in double figures for the Huskies as Vasa Pusica leads the team with 15.9 points, while Jordan Roland is second with 15.6 and Donnell Greshman is third on the team with 11.1. Gresham has a team-high 51 assists, while Anthony Green is tops on Northeastern with 4.9 rebounds per game.

Saturday's game will mark the 44th between Hofstra and Northeastern with the Pride holding a narrow 22-21 lead in the all-time meetings courtesy of wins in five of the last six meetings in the series. Each team won on the opponent's home court last season with Hofstra earning a 71-70 victory in Boston and the Huskies returning the favor with an 81-67 win in Hempstead. The first-ever meeting occurred during the 1949-50 season with the Huskies earning a close 55-53 victory.
