Hempstead, N.Y. – Hofstra Softball Head Coach Jay Miller has named former Atlantic 10 Player of the Year Lindsay Mayer to his staff as an assistant coach, he announced Wednesday.

"I'm incredibly excited to add Lindsay to our staff," said Miller. "Lindsay had an illustrious career at Fordham and knows what it means to be a part of a successful softball program in the Northeast. Her knowledge of the game at the highest level will be an incredible asset to our student-athletes."

Mayer played three years of softball at Fordham after spending her freshman season at Virginia. When she was named Player of the Year in 2016, she batted .343 with 43 RBIs, while also posting a 6-0 record and 3.42 ERA in the circle. Mayer was also a two-time NFCA All-Region and All-Atlantic 10 selection with the Rams. She also excelled in the classroom, earning CoSIDA Academic All-American honors in 2016.

Most recently, Mayer has served as an assistant coach at Wagner, working with outfielders and assisting with hitting coaching.

A native of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Mayer graduated from Fordham in 2017 with a bachelor's in communications and media studies.
