9/5/2018 6:30:00 PM

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Field Hockey Team returns to action this weekend when the Pride travel to Johnson Field in New Haven, Connecticut on Friday, September 7 to face the Bulldogs of Yale at 4 p.m. before making their 2018 home debut at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium on Sunday, September 9 against the Bulldogs of Bryant at 2 p.m.

Yale will provide live stats through Presto Sports and stream the game live on ESPN+. Hofstra will provide live stats through StatBroadcast and will stream the audio of the contest through Pride Productions. WRHU-FM, Radio Hofstra University, will provide the audio with Gabe Salzman and Andrew Murdolo describing the action.

Hofstra enters the weekend with a 1-3 record and having dropped the last three outings. The Pride's lone victory this season came against VCU in the semifinals of the UMass Lowell River Hawk Classic on August 24, 3-2 in a shootout. Hofstra, which has scored only two goals on the season, saw sophomore Hannah Zemaitis and freshman Cami Larsson tally goals against the Rams.

Hofstra's Dutch freshman goalie Betty Bosma has turned away shots in excellent fashion, making 18 saves against Rutgers on August 31 and 16 against VCU. She has 45 saves in four games this season and leads the CAA and is second in the nation in saves per game.

Yale is 1-0 on the season with a 2-1 overtime victory over Michigan State last Monday under their belt. Senior Brooke Reese tallied the game-winner for the Bulldogs while freshman Alissa Wong tallied the Bulldogs first goal of the season. Sophomore Sydney Terroso made eight saves for Yale for the victory. The Bulldogs holds a 17-9 series lead over the Pride. While Hofstra has won four of the last six encounters, Yale has won the last two meetings including a 5-2 win last season in Hempstead.

Before they come to Long Island on Sunday, Bryant enters their Friday game against Drexel with a 0-4 record this season. The Bulldogs are led by senior Emily Perryman with one goal and one assist. Bryant's Dutch freshman goalie Marijn Jaarsma has played in all four games, starting two, and has a 2.67 goals against average with a .750 save percentage.

Following the Bryant contest, the Pride will have their first mid-week game of the season when they host the Stags of Fairfield on Wednesday, September 12 at 3 p.m.
