FH: Larsson Scores Twice As Hofstra Wins CAA Opener At Towson

Towson, MD – Hofstra freshman Cami Larsson scored twice in the second half, including the game-winner that broke a 1-1 tie, as the Pride defeated Towson, 3-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association season opener at Johnny Unitas Stadium Friday afternoon. Hofstra improved to 3-9 overall and 1-0 in the CAA while Towson is 1-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Towson took a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute on Kendra Sykes first goal of the season. Hofstra senior Madison Sauve tied the game just 2:49 before halftime off a rebound in front of Tiger goalie Mackenzie Peacock (3 saves). It was Sauve's first goal of the season.

Larsson broke the 1-1 tie with 11:38 to play in the second half on a penalty corner off an insertion pass from sophomore Madison Georgiana. Just 65 seconds later, Larsson struck again off the penalty corner as Sauve inserted to Valerie Vogels, who passed to Larsson for the goal and a 3-1 lead.
