Elon, N.C. – The Hofstra Softball team makes its first Colonial Athletic Association road trip of the season this weekend, heading to Elon for a three-game series with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday and a single game at 12 p.m. on Sunday at Hunt Softball Park.

The game will be available via live stats and live video, with links to game coverage found on this page and the Hofstra Softball schedule page.

The Pride (18-8, 3-0 CAA) went 1-1 in a pair of midweek games, topping Connecticut, 5-2, on Tuesday, before falling to Fordham, 3-2, on Wednesday. Redshirt-senior Michaela Transue went 3-for-5 in the two games, including a home run in the bottom of the seventh against the rams. After being named CAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday, sophomore Sarah Cornell was credited with both decisions to move to 10-5 on the season, with freshman Sophie Dandola earning a save in the victory over the Huskies.

The Phoenix (18-13, 2-1 CAA) opened conference play going 2-1 against Charleston, taking the first game, 5-2, and earning an 8-0 run-rule victory in Game 2 before falling, 13-5, in five innings in Game 3.

Kara Shutt and Hannah Olson are both batting .398 to lead four players hitting over .300. Olson's 22 RBIs lead the team as well, while Ally Repko has a squad-best five home runs. In the circle, Kiandra Mitchum (6-5) has seen the most work with a 2.56 ERA in 79.1 innings.

Hofstra and Elon played just a two-game series last season, with the Pride taking both and outscoring the Phoenix, 11-0, to take a 7-2 advantage in the all-time series. Cornell threw her first career no-hitter in a 3-0 victory in Game 1.

The Pride returns home on Wednesday, hosting Binghamton for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
