FH: Hofstra Hosts JMU In Regular Season Home Finale Friday

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Field Hockey team will wrap up its 2018 home schedule this Friday, October 19 when the Pride host the Dukes of James Madison University at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium. Game time is 3 p.m.

The Pride will provide live stats of the contest through HofstraStats.com as well as live audio through Pride Productions.

Hofstra is coming off a 7-1 victory over LIU Brooklyn in Hempstead last Friday. Junior Madison Warfel tallied two goals and one assist and senior Madison Sauve and freshman Cami Larsson each added one goal and two assists. Sophomores Frankie O'Brien and Hannah Zemaitis and freshman Djuna Slort scored the other Hofstra goals. Freshman Betty Bosma made seven saves to record her fourth win of the season on Senior Day at Hofstra.

On the season, Larsson leads the Pride (4-11, 1-2) in scoring with five goals and five assists for 15 points. Sauve has added four goals and five assists for 13 points while sophomore Madison Georgiana has chipped in with two goals and three assists for seven points. Bosma, who leads the CAA in saves with 114, has a 3.17 goals against average and a .699 save percentage.

The Dukes of James Madison are 5-8 overall and 1-1 in the CAA. JMU is coming off an 8-1 victory over Saint Francis University (PA) in Harrisonburg, Virginia yesterday (Tuesday). The Dukes are led by Lindsay Gippe, who has six goals and six assists, and Rachel Yeager with six goals and 12 points. Corey Mayer has contributed five goals and two assists for 12 points. In goal, Caitlin Nelson has played in 13 games and has recorded a 3.59 goals against average with 79 saves and a .675 save percentage. The Dukes, who lead the all-time series with Hofstra, 14-4, have won the last seven encounters.

After the James Madison game, Hofstra will wrap up the regular season on the road with games at Drexel on Friday, October 26 and Delaware on Sunday, October 28.
