MBB: Wright-Foreman Earns CAA Honor

1/15/2018 1:00:00 PM

Hempstead, NY – Hofstra junior Justin Wright-Foreman was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office.

It marks the third time this season that Wright-Foreman has earned the award after previously receiving it on December 11 and December 18.

It was another incredible week for Wright-Foreman as he averaged 27.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game in leading the Pride to a pair of huge road wins in conference play. More impressively, Wright-Foreman was a spectacular 20-28 (71%) from the field during the week, including 7-13 from beyond the arc. For the week, he played 73 out of a possible 80 minutes and started both contests.

Wright-Foreman got his stellar week started with a 35-point, six-assist, five-rebound effort in the Pride's buzzer-beating 76-73 win at Towson on Thursday. The victory ended Towson's 14-game home court win streak, which ranked as the ninth-longest in the nation. Wright-Foreman's 35/6/5 stat line was only the fifth time an NCAA Division I player has done that this season and Wright-Foreman has two of them. He also assisted on the game-winning three-pointer from freshman Jalen Ray

On Saturday, Wright-Foreman scored a team-best 20 points on a nearly perfect 8-9 shooting performance in Hofstra's 91-86 win at Drexel. He was also 3-3 from the free throw line and added a rebound and an assist.

This season, Wright-Foreman is averaging 25.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for Hofstra (11-7, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association). He leads Hofstra and the Colonial Athletic Association in scoring and ranks second nationally in that category.
