Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Volleyball team will continue its season-opening road trip this weekend when the Pride take part in the GW Invitational at George Washington University on Friday and Saturday.
Hofstra is playing its first 11 matches away from home and the trip to the nation's capital will see the Pride face LIU Brooklyn on Friday at 4:30 p.m. before taking on Indiana (10 a.m.) and George Washington (7 p.m.) on Saturday.
There will be live stats for all the matches and the Pride's contest against GW will air on RaiseHigh.tv.
Hofstra will take an 0-3 record into the tournament after dropping matches to Virginia, Villanova and Liberty at the Fairfield Inn and Suites Cavalier Classic this past weekend.

Laura Masciullo and freshman
Ivania Ortiz led the way offensively for the Pride with 45 and 43 kills, respectively. Sophomore
Luisa Sydlik averaged a robust 11.33 assists per set to pace the Pride's offense, while junior
Caylie Denham posted a team-best 40 digs on the weekend.
Hofstra had a pair of outstanding individual performances in the Villanova match as well. Sydlik had 58 assists against the Wildcats. It is the most assists by a Pride player since
Hannah Klemm notched 58 against Charleston on November 20, 2015. In addition, Ortiz's 27 kills are the most for a Pride player since
Veronika Kostova had 27 against Charleston on October 1, 2015.
Hofstra is 3-4 all-time against LIU Brooklyn and 5-3 all-time against George Washington. The Pride has never faced Indiana in the sport of volleyball. Hofstra last faced LIU Brooklyn in 2013 and last faced George Washington in 1997.
