Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Head Men's Basketball Coach
Joe Mihalich added a pair of student-athletes to the team's 2017-18 roster as Joel Angus III and Matija Radovic has signed their Letter of Intents with the University.
Angus will have one season of eligibility, while Radovic will be a freshman in 2017-18.
"I am thrilled to add Joel and Matija to the Hofstra Basketball family," commented Mihalich. "Both are outstanding young men who will be excellent additions to our program. We look forward to an exciting season coming up with our strong group of returnees and several stellar newcomers."
Angus, a 6-7, 240 lbs. forward, joins the Pride from Southeast Missouri State University. A native of Brooklyn, New York, he attended high school at Boys and Girls in Brooklyn and then attended Putnam Science Academy before embarking on his collegiate career.
Angus averaged 10.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in 2015-16 for the Redhawks before an injury sidelined him in 2016-17. He ranked second on the team in both categories. Prior to SEMO, Angus spent a season at Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York and led the team to a National Junior College Athletic Association Region XV Championship. He led the team in scoring (15.4 ppg), rebounding (8.5 ppg), field goal percentage (55%) and minutes (32.3 mpg).
Radovic, a 6-7, 212 lbs. forward, hails from Belgrade, Serbia and currently attends Montverde Academy in Orlando, Florida.
Montverde compiled a stellar 26-5 record in 2016-17.
Radovic played on the U18 Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade team on a trio of occasions, including nine games during the 2015-16 season in which he averaged 10.1 points and five rebounds per outing.
Angus and Radovic join Jalen Ray and Kenny Wormley as newcomers on the Pride in 2017-18.
