Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Men's Lacrosse junior
Jack Concannon has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 19, the CAA announced today.
Concannon, a goalie from Lindenhurst, New York, recorded a career-high 19 saves in the Pride's 11-10 victory over the Friars of Providence at James M. Shuart Stadium Saturday. The 2016 All-CAA first team goalie and 2017 Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America third team selection faced 38 Providence shots in recording the sixth win of the year and the 15
th of his career. Concannon's 19 saves tops the 17 stops that he made at Georgetown on March 4 in Hofstra's 11-9 win over the Hoyas.
Concannon, who has made double-digit saves in five of the six games this season, now has an 8.17 goals against average with 76 saves and a .618 save percentage this season. He ranks number one in the CAA in saves per game and save percentage and second in goals against average. Concannon also ranks sixth in the nation in save percentage, seventh in saves per game and 16th in goals against average.
Monday's honor is the second time that Concannon has received the CAA Player of the Week award this season. His first CAA Player of the Week award came on March 7 after the Georgetown contest. Josh Byrne winning it on February 28 and junior
Dylan Alderman getting it on March 13.
Concannon shares the CAA Player of the Week award with Massachusetts sophomore attackman Tyler Bogart, who posted seven goals and two assists in two Minutemen victories last week.
Concannon and Hofstra will be back in action tomorrow (March 21) when the Pride host the Seawolves of Stony Brook at James M. Shuart Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
