Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will conclude its home slate this weekend with a pair games – with Charleston visiting the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Thursday to open the weekend of games.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Hofstra will conclude its home slate on Saturday with a 4 p.m. game against UNCW.

The Hofstra Athletic Department will also have several in-game presentations to honor its own for recent achievements. Hofstra Volleyball senior Hannah Klemm will be recognized for being named an Academic All-American as well as reaching 4,000 career assists. Field Hockey student-athletes Stella Schoen and Claudia Marin Samper are being honored individually as well – as Schoen was named an Academic All-American and reached 100 career points, while Marin Samper holds the program's career points and assists records. Former Hofstra Men's Lacrosse student-athlete Sam Llinares is being recognized for scoring over 100 career goals during his stellar career. Lastly, the Hofstra Wrestling program will be recognized for winning the Pride Cup - a year-long competition between Hofstra's 17 Division I athletic programs that incorporates athletic accomplishments, academic achievements, community service as well as other campus and community wide initiatives.
Hofstra has won three of its last four games to improve to 13-14 overall and 5-9 in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Pride defeated Northeastern, 74-64, last Saturday behind 25 points from sophomore
Justin Wright-Foreman. Senior
Brian Bernardi added 17 points, while junior
Rokas Gustys returned after missing four games with an injury to post a game-high 12 rebounds.
Wright-Foreman leads the team with 16.7 points per game, while senior
Deron Powers is third on the squad with 13 points per game and leads the way with 5.1 assists per game. Freshman
Eli Pemberton is second on the team in scoring with 13.1 points per contest.
Charleston brings a 19-8 overall record and a 10-4 conference record into Thursday's game. They most recently dropped an 89-79 decision at William & Mary on Saturday. Three average in double figures for the Cougars as Joe Chealey is first at 16.7 points per game and is followed by Grant Riller (13.8) and Jarrell Brantley (13.2). Brantley leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game and Chealey is tops on the team with 3.1 assists per game.
Hofstra leads the all-time series with Charleston, 4-3, in a series that began when the Cougars joined the conference beginning with the 2013-14 campaign. The Pride has won three of the last five meetings with both of Charleston's wins during that stretch occurring at TD Arena. The Cougars won this season's earlier game by the score of 77-71 on January 7.
