MBB: Hofstra Heads South For Match-Up With Charleston

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will head south to South Carolina as the Pride will face Charleston on Saturday at 4 p.m.

There will be Pride Productions live video (via Charleston)/audio of the game with links available on this page and via the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. The Pride Productions audio only broadcast can be heard via the portal, on the WRHU mobile app, on WRHU.org and locally in the Hempstead area on WRHU (88.7 FM).

Hofstra (9-7, 1-2 CAA) will look to end a short two-game losing skid as they take on one of the four Colonial Athletic Association squads that is still undefeated in league play.

The Pride dropped a 62-54 decision to James Madison on Thursday despite another spectacular game from sophomore Justin Wright-Foreman. The New York native scored a game-high 25 points after scoring a career-high 30 points on Monday against William & Mary. In Hofstra's last two games (85 minutes of game action), Wright-Foreman has totaled 55 points. He scored 44 in his entire freshman campaign.

With his outburst the past two games, Wright-Foreman is now tied for the team leading in scoring at 13.1 points per game with senior Deron Powers and freshman Eli Pemberton. Junior Rokas Gustys continues to lead Hofstra, the CAA and the nation in rebounding with 13.1 caroms per contest, while Powers is tops on the team with 5.1 assists per game.

Charleston is 12-4 overall and 3-0 in league play after a 62-57 victory over Towson on Thursday. They have won four straight overall. Joe Chealey leads the Cougars with 15.0 points per game and 3.1 assists per outing. Jarrell Brantley is second in scoring at 13.8 points per game and leads Charleston with 8.2 rebounds per contest.

Hofstra leads the all-time series with Charleston, 4-2, in a series that began when the Cougars joined the conference beginning with the 2013-14 campaign. The Pride has won three of the last four meetings with the lone Charleston winning occurring at TD Arena last season.
