Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will begin its goal of winning a Colonial Athletic Association Championship on Saturday when it faces either Elon or Drexel in the quarterfinals.
The four-day tournament gets underway on Friday, March 4 with first round games before Saturday features a quartet of games. Hofstra's quarterfinal game will be the first of the day and tip off at 12 p.m.
The entire CAA Championship will take place at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
Hofstra just concluded a stellar regular season in which it went 22-8 and 14-4 in CAA play to earn the regular season CAA title and the top seed in the conference tournament.
It is the program's first-ever regular season CAA title and the first for Hofstra since capturing back-to-back America East regular season (and tournament) titles in 1999-2000 and 2000-01.
SNY will televise the Pride's quarterfinal game in the New York market. Checking local listings for broadcast information in your area. Both the semifinals and championship game will air nationally on the NBC Sports Network.
There will be live video of the game (via CAA.tv) with links available on this page or via the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. The Pride Productions audio only broadcast can be heard via the portal and the WRHU mobile app. The game will also air locally on WRHU (88.7 FM). The audio only broadcast will have a 30-minute pregame show.
Hofstra was 2-0 this season against both Elon and Drexel. The Phoenix, the tournament's #8 seed, was 16-15 overall and 7-11 in league play this season. The ninth-seeded Dragons went 5-24 and 3-15 in CAA action during the regular season. The Pride is 5-0 all-time against Elon and 37-45 all-time against Drexel.
Should Hofstra advance, the Pride's semifinal game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday and the championship game will tip-off at 7 p.m. on Monday.
