Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University senior guard Juan'ya Green picked up a pair of impressive awards on Monday as he was named the CBS Sports Player of the Week, along with earning Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week honors as well. 

The CAA award is Green's third of the year as he previously earned it on November 23 and January 4. It also marks the second straight week and third time in the last four weeks that a Hofstra player has garnered CAA Player of the Week honors with Green's award on January 4 and sophomore center Rokas Gustys picking up the award last week. 

Green cemented his status as one of the best players in the nation as he led Hofstra to a pair of huge conference wins as the Pride stayed in a tie for first in the CAA. 

Green started the week with a 23-point, 14-assist game at Northeastern, while setting a new school record with 55 minutes played in the epic 96-92 triple overtime road victory on Thursday. 

He would nearly tally a triple-double in Hofstra's next game as he poured in a season-high 30 points, while adding eight rebounds, seven assists and four steals as Hofstra routed William & Mary, 91-63, on Sunday afternoon. He also committed zero turnovers against the Tribe. 

Both games pitted Hofstra against teams they were tied with for first in the CAA standings.  

Hofstra (14-6, 6-2 CAA) has two straight and four of its last five.

Hofstra is back in action on Thursday when it hosts Elon at 7 p.m.
