Jenkins was a member of the Hofstra Men's Basketball team from 2007 to 2011 and graduated as the all-time leading scorer in school history with 2,513 points, a point total which is second all-time in the Colonial Athletic Association behind NBA legend David Robinson. A two time Associated Press All-American and three-time Haggerty Award recipient, Jenkins was just the 63rd player in NCAA history to score more than 2,500 career points. He was also only the third player in the 76-year history of the Haggerty to win the award three times. Jenkins, a three-time CAA first team selection and the CAA Player of the Year as a junior and senior, became the first active player in school history to have his jersey retired when he had the honor during his final home game of the 2010-11 season. The CAA Rookie of the Year as a freshman, Jenkins averaged 19.6 points per game over his four years including a 22.6 points per game average during his senior season. Jenkins was drafted by the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association in 2011. He has played two seasons in the NBA, spending 2011-12 with the Warriors and splitting the 2012-13 season between Golden State and the Philadelphia 76ers. Jenkins appeared in a total of 110 games over those two seasons and scored 107 points, while also totaling 214 assists, 100 rebounds and 48 steals. He made 29 starts. Favorite Memory of Hofstra: There's no way in 5 years I can just name one memory at Hofstra. But a few of my favorite memories at Hofstra includes: Being an impatient redshirt freshman eager to play; winning CAA and Metropolitan awards; Becoming the all-time leader scorer; having my jersey retired. And most important - graduation!
Â
What You Miss Most About Hofstra: The relationships I've built with everyone from my teammates, coaches as well as students and administration all over campus. Those relationships taught me life lessons that I am able to handle every day and I'd like to thank everyone at HU for that!Â
