ATH: Former Student-Athlete Spotlight – Stacy Jackson, Softball

Stacy Jackson's outstanding career at Hofstra has stood the test of time. As one of just three softball student-athletes to have her number retired, No. 19 still ranks in the top-5 all-time in Hofstra history in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts. Her 96 wins from 1992-95 is second in program history and her 600 strikeouts ranks fifth. Her six no-hitters and 885 innings pitched are also the second-highest in Hofstra Softball's illustrious history. A 2007 Hofstra Hall of Fame inductee, Jackson  led Hofstra to NCAA Tournament appearances in 1993 and 1995 and was a four-time All-ECAC selection and a three-time all-conference pick. She played professionally in Parma, Italy, during the 1995 season.

Graduation Year: 1995 & 1997

Sport Played: Softball

Current Occupation: Teacher/Coach

Where Do You Live: South Jersey

Favorite Memory of Hofstra: In my first year, we had nine incoming freshmen and we were so excited to play the best competition. Our coach, Bill Edwards, made us better, faster and stronger and we believed that we could beat anyone. Playing against Oklahoma, Iowa, and UNLV were awesome.  Pitching a no-hitter in the ECC championship ranks up there as well.

What You Miss Most About Hofstra: My teammates, coach and the entire family atmosphere at Hofstra!
