Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Women's Lacrosse returns to action on Wednesday when the Pride travel to Rutgers for a 5 p.m. game.
Hofstra and Rutgers have met 33 times, making it the Pride's second most common opponent as Hofstra and Towson have met 34 times heading into this season. Rutgers leads the series 23-10. The Scarlet Knights won last season's meeting, 11-10, in Hempstead.

Hofstra (4-3) dropped a 13-9 decision to No. 20 Johns Hopkins in its last game on Saturday. Two of the Pride's three losses this season have been to ranked teams as Hofstra fell to No. 1 Maryland back on February 28.

Hofstra has five players who have scored at least 10 points this season with Altomare leading the way with 36 points on 17 goals and 19 assists. Also in double figures are sophomore attacker

Iannetta is the Pride's pillar on defense as she has 30 draw controls, 23 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers. She leads the team in ground balls and caused turnovers and is second in draw controls. Altomare has a team-high 42 draw controls.
Rutgers is 1-7 this season and has lost six straight since a season-opening 10-7 win over Villanova. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a 19-14 loss to No. 15 James Madison on Saturday.
Kim Kolodny leads Rutgers with 20 points on 17 goals and three assists. Lauren Sbrilli and Halley Barnes both have at least 10 goals this season as Sbrilli has 18 points on 16 goals and two assists, while Barnes has 11 goals and five assists.
Candice Dandridge leads the team with 14 ground balls, while Jenny Vlahos has 20 draw controls and six caused turnovers to lead the Scarlet Knights.
Following the game against Rutgers Hofstra will have a little break in the schedule until returning to action on Sunday, March 29 at Ohio State for a 12 p.m. first draw control.
