Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University senior forward Ameen Tanksley was named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week, it was announced today. 

Tanksley tied for game-high honors with 22 points and tied for team-high honors with eight rebounds last week against Siena. He drained a pair of three-pointers in the game and was 8-10 from the free throw line as well. In addition, he also added two assists and two steals in 36 minutes. 

This season he is averaging 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game for Hofstra (6-3). 

Hofstra is back in action on Sunday when it travels to Long Island rival Stony Brook for a 2 p.m. contest.
