MGOLF: Hofstra, Won Win At Jasper Invitational

Huntington, NY - David Won took individual medalist honors, shooting a 69 (-1) to help lead the Pride to a first place finish at the 2015 Jasper Invitational at the Huntington Country Club Monday afternoon.
 
The team win was Hofstra's third consecutive at the event, while Won won for the second straight year after an identical score at the 2014 Jasper Invitational.
 
Hofstra posted a team score of 293 (+13) to finish four strokes ahead of Monmouth in the four-team field. Manhattan was third at 302 (+22) followed by Saint Peter's at 304 (+24).
 
Won was the only golfer in the 23-player field under par in the round and finished one stroke ahead of Manhattan's Jon Keyes, who was at even par 70. Kyle Burke of Monmouth was third at 71 (+1), while Hofstra's Sean Cavanaugh was fourth at 72 (+2).
 
Johnson Ko tied for fifth at 74 (+4), while Eric Shelly was tied for 15th at 78 (+8). Kenyon Kautz rounded out the Pride's entry with a 19th-place showing at 79 (+9).
 
Hofstra is back in action this Monday at the Glen Oaks Shootout hosted by Manhattan. The event will be held at the Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, New York.
