Sophomore goalie Maxi Primus made two saves and senior defender Jordan Homyak posted a defensive save to record Albany's ninth shutout in their last 22 contests.

Senior Echo Bretz opened the scoring 5:03 into the contest off a pass from Bottino. Almost three minutes later, Heuser scored her first off a penalty corner. Heuser notched her second of the game, off her own rebound, nine minutes later. Three minutes after that, Briddell scored on a poke from in front of the goal off a penalty corner shot from Heuser. Bottino notched her first of the season with less than 11 minutes to play in the first half. The Great Danes outshot the Pride, 11-3 in the first 35 minutes.

The Pride fired four shots at Primus in the second half but couldn't get the ball into the goal. Senior forward Jonel Boileau and junior midfielder Charlotte Loehr each took two shots for the Pride in the contest,

Albany's Briddell and Heuser added second half goals - 46 seconds apart - with 11 minutes to play in the contest to close out the scoring. Albany outshot Hofstra, 18-7 while each team had three penalty corners.

Hofstra red-shirt freshman goalie Lauren Saltus made three saves in the first 28:49 before giving way to freshman Carys Swan, who also made three saves in the final 41:11.

The Pride will return to action on Sunday, August 31 when they travel to Hamilton, NY to face the Raiders of Colgate at noon.
