Hofstra is coming off a 4-3 non-conference, overtime win over Columbia at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium last Sunday. The Pride came back from two, two-goal deficits at 2-0 and 3-1 and tied the game at 3-all 13 minutes into the second half. Sophomore

The Pride is led in scoring by Marin Samper with career-highs of 11 goals, six assists and 28 points. Boileau, who is just two points shy of becoming just the sixth player in school history to record 100 points in a career, is second on the team in scoring this season with nine goals and four assists. Loehr, who posted a goal and two assists against Columbia, is third in scoring with career-highs of seven goals and 16 points. Freshman

Carys Swan is 8-4 on the year with a 2.36 goals against average and a .658 save percentage with 52 saves.
Friday's game against Drexel is the 34th meeting between the Pride and the Dragons. Drexel leads the series, 18-14-1. The two schools met last season in Hempstead with the Dragons, then ranked 19th, winning, 3-2. The Dragons enter their CAA opener with a 7-4 record. Drexel has won four of the last five including last Sunday's 6-0 victory at Bucknell. The Dragons have wins over VCU (3-1), Siena (6-0), Fairfield (3-0), Temple (1-0 in OT), Rider (4-0), Kent State (6-3) and Bucknell. Their losses came against New Hampshire (1-0), Maryland (3-0), American (1-0) and Penn State (5-0).
Drexel is led in scoring by senior forward Rachel Sumfest with eight goals and six assists for 22 points. Sophomore midfielder Jessica McCarthy has tallied three goals and three assists while senior Meghan Plank has contributed two goals and a team-high five assists. Senior Christina Conrad has added four goals. Senior goalie Jantien Gunter has a 1.32 goals against average and a .791 save percentage with 53 saves while playing all 11 games this year.
