Hofstra Second After One Round At Tuxedo Autumn Invitational

Tuxedo Junction, NY - Hofstra shot rounds of 304 (+20) and 305 (+21), and is in second place after day one of the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational, hosted by Columbia at the Tuxedo Club.

The Pride trails the host Lions by five strokes in the nine-team field. Columbia shot rounds of 304 (+20) and 300 (+16).

Brandon Shin leads the Pride at 149 (+7) after rounds of 74 (+3) and 75 (+4). The senior is tied for sixth in the 51-player field. David Won, who had a hole in one (the eighth of his career and first at Hofstra) on the 17th hole during a practice round Thursday, is tied for 10th at 150 (+8) following consecutive rounds of 75 (+4). David Mecca is tied for 15th at 152 (+10) following rounds of 75 (+4) and 77 (+6). Sean Cavanaugh carded scores of 80 (+9) and 78 (+7) for a 158 (+16) and is tied for 27th. Luke Smith shot 81 (+10) and 93 (+22) and is 50th at 174 (+32).

Columbia's Brandon Jowers is the individual leader at 142 (E) following rounds of 70 (-1) and 72 (+1). He holds a three-stroke lead over teammate Curtis Chan.

The Tuxedo Invitational concludes Saturday.
