MGOLF: Hofstra Ninth After Two Rounds At Hartford

South Kent, CT - Hofstra shot rounds of 308 (+20) and 307 (+19) and is in ninth place after two rounds of the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bull's Bridge Golf Club Monday afternoon.

The Pride is 34 strokes off the lead in the 19-team field at 615 (+39).

Seniors David Mecca and Brandon Shin are tied for 33rd-place in the 105-player field. Mecca had back-to-back rounds of 76 (+4) for a 152 (+8), while Shin opened with a 77 (+5) and followed up with a 75 (+3) for his 152. Sophomore Sean Cavanaugh shot two rounds of 77 (+5) and is tied for 43rd at 154 (+10). Classmate David Won carded rounds of 78 (+6) and 79 (+7) and is tied for 59th at 157 (+13). Senior Jonathan Farber is tied for 95th at 164 (+20) following a pair of 82's (+10) Monday.

The host Hawks of Hartford hold the team lead at 581 (+5), three strokes ahead of Central Florida. Hartford's Evan Russell is the individual leader at 139 (-5) following rounds of 69 (-3) and 70 (-2) Monday. Russell holds a three-shot lead over Seton Hall's Ryan Snouffer.

The final round of the Hartford Hawks Invitational gets underway Tuesday morning.
