Jonel Boileau scored her third goal in the last two contests but the Terriers scored twice early in the second half to break a 1-1 tie as 20th-ranked Boston University posted a 3-1 victory over Hofstra in a non-conference game at New Balance Field Sunday afternoon. The Terriers improved to 6-3 on the season while Hofstra is now 4-7 this year.
Boileau, a native of Kelowna, BC, Canada, followed up her two-goal, three-assist performance at Northeastern on Friday, with the Pride's lone goal against Boston University. Senior goalkeeper

The Terriers took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute as junior Anne Fruitema scored off a penalty corner with seniors Ysi Schieb and Madeleine Hackett assisting on the goal. It was Fruitema's third goal of the season. But the Pride tied it in the 26th minute as red-hot Boileau recorded her ninth goal of the season on a shot off a fast break from near the top of the circle that was deflected. The first half was statistically even with each team taking six shots and making two saves while Boston University had a 4-1 advantage in penalty corners.
Boston University opened a two-goal lead in the first 13:05 of the second half. Fruitema notched her second of the contest and fourth of the season, off a penalty corner, with Schieb making the pass on the goal at the 45:18 mark. The Terriers increased the lead to 3-1 three minutes later as freshman Amanda Cassera converted a rebound for her fourth goal of the season.
The Terriers, who carried the play much of the second half, outshot the Pride, 8-3 and had six corners to Hofstra's one in the second period. Hofstra goalie

Hofstra was outshot, 14-9 by Boston and had just two penalty corners to the Terriers 10. The Pride return to action on Friday, October 4 when they host UMass-Lowell. Game time at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium is 3 p.m.
