MLAX: Hofstra Alum Sorichetti Selected in NLL Draft

Hempstead, NY – Hofstra alumnus and former men's lacrosse standout Adrian Sorichetti was selected with the fourth pick of the second round by the Edmonton Rush in the 2013 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft  Monday night. The NLL Draft took place at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) in Oakville, Ontario.

Sorichetti, the 13th pick overall in the draft Monday night, played for the Pride from 2010 through 2013. He is a 2013 graduate of Hofstra with a degree in exercise science. Last season, Sorichetti was third on the Hofstra team in goals (15) and points (27), and was second in assists with 12 while starting all 14 games. He posted two multi-goal games in 2013 including four against Delaware and two against Dartmouth. He also posted two assists against Dartmouth and Sacred Heart.

A native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, Sorichetti was a 2012 All-CAA first team selection after leading the Pride in points (38) with 24 goals and 14 assists that season. Sorichetti, who was also a CAA All-Rookie Team choice in 2010, was selected to the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game roster this past May. He played in 52 games during his Hofstra career and recorded 60 goals and 33 assists for 93 points.

The Minnesota Swarm selected Logan Schuss from Ohio State University with the first overall pick as a total of 55 players were selected.
