Hempstead, N.Y. - The Hofstra Softball team held its annual alumnae day on Saturday at Hofstra Softball Stadium.
The program honored the many alumnae that came back to show support and also recgonized the 2013 team for winning the Colonial Athletic Association championship and earning a NCAA Tournament berth. A banner was unveiled to commemorate the accomplishment.
Hofstra set a program record for victories in a season by going 46-13. The Pride was a NCAA Regional finalist and posted two victories over top-10 opponents in the campaign. Head Coach Bill Edwards' squad bested No. 5 Texas in the regular season and the No. 6 overall seed in Missouri at the NCAA Regionals.
Hofstra went 18-2 in CAA play. The Pride then won three straight in the conference tournament while allowing just one run. Olivia Galati, Nicole Osovski, Jess Hirschbuhl and D.J. Slugh, who were all seniors on the team, presented the banner near the circle.
In the Alumnae vs. the 2014 Hofstra squad, the alumnae held on for a 2-1 victory.
