Farmingdale, NY – Behind a one-hit performance by Emma Falen and six RBIs by Ryleigh Smith, the Hofstra softball team claimed a 10-0 win over Drexel in six innings from FSC Softball Complex on the campus of Farmingdale State College.

Hofstra is now 15-14 overall and 10-1 in CAA play following today's shutout win, while Drexel sees its record slip to 13-14 overall and 3-5 against conference competition.

Lily Yepez put the hosts ahead in the second inning with a single up the middle, scoring Nicole Cancel and Mackenzie Fitzgerald for a 2-0 lead. Smith scored Alanna Morse and Chelsea Villar with a double all the way to the wall in center, and Cancel brought home Smith with a double of her own for a three-run third inning to put the Pride's lead at five. Smith and Cancel hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the fifth inning for a 7-0 lead, and Smith ended things in the sixth with a three-run home run well clear of the left field wall.
