9/7/2012 4:19:00 PM

Denton, TX – Hofstra University senior libero Kylee Maneja moved to the top of the all-time digs list at Hofstra as the talented Hawaii native picked up 13 in the Pride's early match to give her a school-record 1,663 for her career.

Hofstra dropped the match, 3-0 (19-25, 25-27, 17-25) to Texas A&M Corpus Christi, at the Mean Green Invitational and will play its second contest of the day at 5 p.m. (EST) against Oral Roberts.

Maneja passed Shellane Ogoshi, who picked up 1,660 digs from 2004-07.

The loss drops Hofstra's record to 8-2 this season, while the Islanders improved to 6-3.

Hofstra was led in the match by junior middle blocker Nikki Kinnier, who tallied 13 kills and a .409 attack percentage.  Senior setter Catalina Charry added 20 assists and six digs for the Pride as well.

Both teams had very strong first set offensively as Hofstra hit at a .391 clip, while Corpus Christi had a .400 attack percentage.

The defense picked up for both teams after that as neither team managed to reach a .200 attack percentage in the second stanza, which proved to be the closest of the match.  Neither team could pull away as the set went into extra time before the Islanders earned a narrow 27-25 victory.

The third set was all Corpus Christi as the Islanders pulled away for a 25-17 victory.

Ivy Baresh led the Islanders with nine kills and added seven digs.
