Hempstead, N.Y. - Hofstra senior guard Mike Moore was
named to the College Hoops.net Colonial Athletic Association's all-conference
team, the site announced on Wednesday.
CHN named top-5 selections for all 32 Division I
conferences. For the CAA, Moore was one of three guards to make the squad. He
joined Delaware's Devon Saddler and UNC Wilmington's Keith Rendleman. George
Mason's Ryan Pearson and Delaware's Jamelle Hagins were the frontcourt picks.
Moore leads the CAA with a 19.3 scoring
average and his 13 20-point games were four more than the next closest player
in the CAA entering the week (Saddler had nine). Besides his offensive prowess,
Moore's pair of double-digit rebounding games made him one of just 24 players
in the CAA to accomplish the feat.
In going up against the No. 2 scorer in the
league in Saddler, Moore out-scored the Blue Hens' guard, 24-14, and knocked
down a trio of three-pointers compared to Saddler's one on Jan. 4.
Moore has led the team in scoring in 19 out
of 23 total games. Entering Monday night, Moore was 22nd in the nation in
scoring averaging. Entering Monday, Moore was also in the league top-15 in
field-goal percentage (13th), free-throw percentage (seventh), steals (sixth)
three-point percentage (fifth), three-pointers made (third), defensive rebounds
(13th) and minutes played (fifth).
Moore will look to lead Hofstra (7-16, 1-10) to a win
tonight against Towson (1-22, 1-10). Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Mack
Sports Complex. To purchase tickets, call 516-HOF-TIXX (463-8499) or
