Los Angeles, CA - Former Hofstra Basketball All-American Charles Jenkins will make his first professional start for the Golden State Warriors tonight in Los Angeles as the Warriors take on the Lakers at the Staples Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific Time).
Jenkins has come of the bench in four of the Warriors first six games. A second round selection by Golden State in the 2011 NBA Draft, he is averaging 1.5 points and 0.8 assists per game. Jenkins had the best game of his young career on January 2 against Phoenix, scoring six points on 3-3 shooting in a season-high 14 minutes.
The all-time leading scorer in Hofstra Basektball history, Jenkins posted 2,513 points during his four-year career for the Pride.
