Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University senior attacker Stephanie Rice was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 1 Second Team, it was announced recently.
Rice, who earned the nod in the women's at-large category, carries a .393 grade point average as a history and social studies education major.
Rice, a native of Skaneateles, NY, had a solid senior season for Hofstra as she posted 23 goals, 10 assists, 33 points, 17 ground balls, 15 draw controls and seven caused turnovers.
She ranked second on the team in goals and points and third in assists. In addition, she was fourth in draw controls and third in ground balls and caused turnovers.
Rice finished her four-year career with 96 goals, falling just four goals short of becoming only the 11th player in program history to reach 100 career goals. She also added 15 assists to total 111 points during her time in a Pride uniform. Rice's other career totals included 56 ground balls, 33 caused turnovers and 35 draw controls.
