Hempstead, N.Y. - Simon Riddiough was named the Big Apple Soccer Women's Coach of the Year and Tiffany Yovino was named the Player of the Year, it was announced this week.

The pair added the Big Apple Soccer accolades to a long list of honors this year. Riddiough and Yovino swept the Colonial Athletic Association Coach and Player of the Year honors, while Riddiough was an NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year, and Yovino was an NSCAA third-team All-American.

The awards came after Hofstra had a history-making season in 2010, setting school record with 19 wins, 18 straight wins, and 11 conference wins. The Pride became the first team to go unbeaten and untied (11-0) in CAA play since William & Mary was 8-0 in 1998.

Yovino scored a career-high 12 goals this fall, including at least one in each of the last eight regular season contests (all in conference play). She had the game-tying and game-winning goals in a season-ending comeback win over Northeastern to wrap up the undefeaed regular season in conference play, and then added the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Yovino was a part of more wins than any other player in school history (58), as she helped the Pride break the school record for wins as a freshman in 2007 with 18, then eclipse that mark this fall with 19. She was a part of both NCAA Tournament wins in program history (including a 1-0 win over Ohio State in 2007), and was a four-time all-region and all-conference selection. She as also a first-team Academic All-American selection this fall.

Riddiough, meanwhile, improved his career record to 67-29-8 (five years) after his 19-3 season this year. He earned regional Coach of the Year honors from the NSCAA for the second time, and earned his first CAA Coach of the Year award.
