Oakland, Calif. — Former Hofstra guard Charles Jenkins has signed with the Golden State Warriors, the NBA team announced today.

Jenkins, who won two Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year awards and graduated as Hofstra's all-time leading scorer, was selected in the second round (44th overall) by the Warriors in the draft in June. Golden State now has 10 players under contract for first-year coach Mark Jackson.

Jenkins averaged 19.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals for his career en route to registering a program-record 2,513 points. Golden State makes its lone trip to the New York metro area this season when the Warriors play the Nets at Prudential Center on Jan. 18.
