Columbia jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead and the Lions' defense held the Pride to just 4 shots in a 3-0 win Wednesday evening at the Baker Field Complex. Columbia improves to 9-2 with the win, while the Pride falls to 7-6 on the year after their fourth consecutive loss.

Desi Scherf scored what proved to be the game winner 9:41 into the contest as she converted a rebound into the top left corner of the goal. Nearly 10 minutes later, Caitlin Mullins scored on a penalty stroke to give Columbia a 2-0 lead. The Lions held a 7-1 shot advantage in the opening half.

Carson Christus finished the scoring at 60:56, scoring on a give-and-go from Christine Buszczak. The Hofstra defense limited Columbia to three second half shots, while the Pride offense managed three shots of their own in the closing stanza.
