The Hofstra Field Hockey team captured first place in their first tournament of 2004.  The Pride defeated the University at Albany, the Big Apple Flickers and a Hofstra Alumnae team in a spring round-robin tournament and then breezed through the semifinals and the championship.  All-CAA first team goaltender Jessica Cowperthwait (pictured) earned all five shutouts.

On Sunday, March 28 three Hofstra players were selected to play for the Metro Rush, a USA Field Hockey Summer League team.  Sophomore Alexandra Alonge, and freshmen Jessica Cowperthwait and Don-Melissa Jantzen earned spots on the squad.  Newcomer Leslie DeSimone was also named to the squad.  She will start her Hofstra career in the fall.
