Before Hofstra:

Four-year varsity standout in lacrosse and football at Islip High School in Islip, New York.
Earned All-Conference honors as a sophomore, First Team All-Division recognition as a junior and All-County and Second Team All-Long Island honors as a senior.
Two-time team captain and Delecave Award nominee.
Also starred in football, earning All-County, Second Team All-Long Island, First Team All-State, Team MVP and Golden 11 Award honors as a senior quarterback.
Finished his varsity lacrosse career with 105 goals and 99 assists.
Helped Islip earn its first 7-1 football season in a decade and capture the Big 4 Championship.
Played club lacrosse for Legacy Lacrosse Club.

Personal:

Son of Linda and Eric Rao.
Has three siblings: Tim, Madison and Matt.
Father, Eric, played collegiate lacrosse at Cornell.
Uncles Paul and Bob Rao both played lacrosse at Hofstra.
Cousins Lacey Downey (Boston College/Johns Hopkins), Kayla Downey (Coastal Carolina/Virginia Tech), Ellie Downey (SUNY Oneonta) and James Rao (Stony Brook/Cortland) all played collegiate lacrosse. Brother Tim played club lacrosse at Alabama.
Finance major.
